Hey, I watched your great podcast debate a few weeks ago about doing a Roth IRA vs. an HSA. Great points. I have both and agree you should have both, but i tip to the HSA if you don’t have have enough to put in both. (BTW, you didn’t cover the point you can use the HSA to pay medicare premiums in retirement or that you could pull it out for regular non-medical expenses if you pay the tax due just like a regular IRA, but without RMD’s.) Could you weigh in on a discussion my wife and I have had in the past? She wants me to maximize my Roth Contribution every year. I say no, I want to take that money and pay the tax bill next April for doing a conversion to Roth in my 401K at work this year, then transfer from the Roth 401K at work to the self-directed Roth IRA I just recently set up.  We’re coming up to the last quarter of the year, and I’m sure we’ll have this discussion again as it’s time to make those decisions. What are your thoughts? Keep the podcasts going and the info coming. It’s very helpful for those who don’t have time to sit down and read your great books!
